What in the World???

What in the world is going on? This has been a subject of much debate at my house. We're seeing our nation becoming more and more unstable in more and more ways, we're seeing marriages crumble and fall. Some we see from afar, others involve people very near and dear to our hearts. But over and over we're seeing people do and say things we never thought we'd witness. Just today Johnny and I were talking about how even the simplest of things seems to meet with such resistance. Johnny needs to help his dad with something critical... And as if on cue, the phone connection drops. Just today I was talking with a friend- one that I seriously thought had ditched me for some unknown reason. In actuality, she was wondering the same thing about me. We've called and left numerous messages for one another. Have I gotten any of them? Has her number shown up on my caller ID? Have my messages been received? Is my number even registering on her phone? To all those questions, the answer is a very mysterious "no." This only a very small sampling of all the glitches, big and small. It's like the world and the people in it are collectively and individually going crazy!

It's all got me pondering. We've been praying, and praying very fervently I might add. We've prayed, fasted, and we are still facing opposition at even the smallest of turns. What gives? Has satan been unleashed? Unleashed in our own personal lives and in our nation as a whole? Is our nation seeing what it's like to live in a secular, Godless society? Are all of these happenings just symptoms of our ailing society? I just wonder if this is what it's like to live without the blessing of God... Our nation was founded upon Christian principles and we have undeniably enjoyed the favor of God. I just wonder if we in our rejection of God and His statutes are passing a milestone where we will see what it's like to live without His favor and blessing? Whatever the case, I know I'm praying even more fervently. The victories are even sweeter. I will praise Him when we win, and I'll praise Him when we lose. "If God be for us, who can be against us?" Romans 8:28
